In 1974, The Clark Sisters signed with Sound of Gospel Records. Under the new label, the group released albums such as Unworthy, Count It All Joy, and He Gave Me Nothing to Lose. After the release of Is My Living In Vain, their first live recording, The Clark Sisters gained popularity.[1][2]
Cover versions and uses in popular culture[edit]
In 1999, American group Xscape covered 'Is My living In Vain' for their debut album Hummin' Comin' at 'Cha. In 2006, the song was again covered by the African-American all-female Christian R&BZie'l. The song is sampled in the 2017 song 'Talking to God, Pt. 2' by rapper Deante’ Hitchcock.
